Blackwell's Biggest Hurdle

From Yahoo News

Blackwell is not well established even with GOP voters, only 59% of whom now support him. He is perceived as conservative by 51% of all voters.

Once this changes, the polls will tighen, if it doesn't then it won't be a fun Election Night.

Columbus Dispatch Says: Ted Strickland is vague

from the dispatch

On taxes, for example, Strickland usually talks more about taking enough time to assess the impact of the sweeping tax changes the Republican legislature made last year than what he thinks about those changes.

"I think we need to let this reform play out for a period that will provide us with sufficient data to understand its effect on the various sectors of our economy," Strickland said after an Ohio Farm Bureau event last week.

and...

Pressed for details about how the state could move away from its current reliance on local property taxes to fund schools, Strickland talks instead about providing the leadership to bring stakeholders together to find a bipartisan solution.

"People may want the i dotted and t crossed, but I don’t think that’s a way to approach this problem," Strickland said in an interview Friday, arguing that endorsing or opposing certain ideas now could cause the parties involved to harden their positions. "I don’t think that’s a way to really solve it.

Ted Strickland is such a joke!

Wanted: Ex-convicts with "Peace Corps spirit"

Ted Strickland is now saying that, if elected, he'll hire people with the "Peace Corps spirit."

So I guess that means Strickland is under the impression that our prisons are bubbling over with ethics and integrity, right?

U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland told a closed-door Toledo audience over the weekend that he would hire ex-convicts for state government jobs if Ohioans elect him governor in the fall.

He also said he'd remove anyone in his administration that "missteps." However, it's been Ken Blackwell who has called on the resignation of all BWC board members in light of the coingate scandal, not Ted Strickland. In fact, one of Strickland's closest political allies served on the BWC board.

On top of that, Strickland defended Bob Taft against Michael Coleman's calls for his resignation during the primary. Must be because the governor has that Peace Corps spirit.
