Dann’s Office Defends the Flames on His SUV (Also, Jerid is a lying sack of crap)

From the Dayton Daily News:

Ohio AG’s Sunshine Express hits road

Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann’s Sunshine Express is hitting the road.

Dann’s office added decals and painted flames onto a Chevy Suburban to create the “Sunshine Express.” Basically,

it’s eye-catching transportation for staffers doing public records training classes across the state, said Leo Jennings III, Dann’s communications director.

“I wanted to make sure people saw it,” Jennings said.

Jennings noted the SUV has 114,000 miles on it, was pulled from the existing fleet, and only about $60 was spent on the decals and paint.

Jerid at BuckeyeStatistBlog was lying by trying to claim that former Attorney General Petro had the cheesy flames painted on his SUV. Clearly, Dann’s spokesman is taking responsibility for the flames, but I think the $60 price tag sounds low.

    Matt.

Lying? Such words. You’ll notice I’ve got a piece up about it today, and I had not seen the DDN article yet.

    Hearts and flowers,
    Jerid

You might want to get better sources at the AG’s office, loser.

    Jerid,

A simple google search would have told you that Marc Dann bought the SUV this year, from a campaign donor.

Mark, I don’t know if it’s the same SUV. Dann bought that from a donor, but I doubt he would already be up to 114,000 miles.

    Well it’s 170 miles between Columbus & Warren. 340 a round trip.

How many SUVs does the AG office need?

And what about global warming, they do believe in it.

    Mark,

Shove your google search. It’s a different suv. But I do appreciate the snark.

That’s not a 2007 Suburban, so it was obviously in the office pool for a while and not the controversial new one that Dann bought from a donor.

I’m not defending the cheesy flames or anything, but it was probably an old BCI pool car that they found a different purpose for. My guess is that SUVs are practical for BCI agents because they spend a lot of time out in the field and they need a lot of room for people & cargo.

BCI agents don’t drive SUVs, most just get regular old cars. Some agents assigned to drug task forces have trucks, but I don’t know of any SUVs.
