Bob Latta Doesn’t Care About Fulton County
From the email box:
On Saturday, October 20, 2007 the Fulton County Ohio Republican Central Committee endorsed Steve Buehrer in the 5th Congressional District race.
While it may not seem remarkable that Sen. Buehrer received an endorsement from his home committee, what IS remarkable is the lack of respect shown by Bob Latta for a county central committee in the district he wishes to represent.
Not only did Latta not chose to attend the endorsement meeting, but he also chose not even to send a representative on his behalf. That is a slap in the face to committee members took time away from work and family to show up on a Saturday morning because they believe in our Republic and believe in the party Latta claims to represent.
Judging by the disrespect shown toward representatives of his party in Fulton County, what type of representation can Latta be expected to give residents of this end of the district?

This reminds me of the type of arrogance Mike DeWine showed about Republican endorsements during the 2006 election… I still remember DeWine’s BlackBerryed gargoyles (staffers) frantically calling others as DeWine lost county endorsements to no-name conservative candidates.
You are a no talent A**-clown Matt. It is people like you that made Republicans lose last year in Ohio. Your candidate brought down the entire ticket in the state. Every candidate had to fight their way to obtain more votes, b/c your guy couldn’t even get 40% of the support of Ohioans.
Say what you will about DeWine, but he is sorely missed in the U.S. Senate by this Republican.
I hope at some point in time you will be critical of your old boss.
Don;t hold your breath Scott. And I think the real problem with Blackwell was he wasn’t conservative enough. He probably supported chicken pox vaccines…hippie.
Jerid,
I am assuming that this is Jerid from BSB. I also post on your site and am often critical of you too.
I am absolutely sick of the right wing/left wing stuff.
There seems to be on these blogs no recognition of people that do good jobs whatever their political affiliation.
I am a Republican, that being said, there are Democrats that are doing/will do a better job than the GOP candidate opposing that Democrat; i.e. Coleman/Todd.
There is no denying from that the average Ohioan would much prefer the politics of Mike DeWine to Sherrod Brown, and I am positive that Sherrod will be a one term Senator. His value system is so out of whack with the majority of Ohio. But what the voters want is what the voters get. I can and will accept that.
What is discouraging is the way these blogs tear down good people despite their party.
I will continue to read, but probably no longer participate in the discussion of what is posted here or at BSB.
Take a hike, you Wagoner for speaker supporting, homosexual activist loving, liberal country club Republican. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Matt,
First of all I don’t live at a country club. I am very much middle class, married with two sons. More than I can say for yourself.
Secondly, I am pro-life, pro-death penalty and pro fiscal reposibility. Hardly liberal, but I am so far from being religious right. I also support people with a track record of doing a good job.
One can ask how I can support Coleman since he is pro-choice. Well, my answer is that as Mayor of Columbus he has no bearing on the matter. Now if he were running for judge or something like that is a different story.
The problem with you Matt is that you are here to tear down honorable people that serve the public. I can take your heat and I don’t care what you say about me. It is one thing to be critical of someone’s vote, it is another to make it personal and not about the issues.
That being said, I follow the principles of the GOP:
Scott, Scott, Scott. There are so many other reasons to detest Mike Coleman and his policies other than is stand on the inalienable right to life. The ranting and raving, the mysterious fires not one but two, the problems with his wife, the rise in crime, the attempts to raise taxes, the overspending, the corruption, the absolute destruction of a once vibrant downtown, and the blind eye that has been turned to the total failure of Columbus schools.
Not only do I no longer live in Columbus, heck I don’t even like to go there. Coleman has set by and watched it go down and down.
Blackwell’s problem was that he allowed the Ohio GOP to bring him to the middle for the general. BIG mistake. How else could the anti-Taft candidate allow the Dems to hang Taft around his neck?
Speaking of liberal Republicans, and back to the original post, what does Bob Latta think he’s going to do for volunteers in Fulton Co. when he snubs them like this? There IS a general election that follows the primary, after all…
Mike Dewine missed in the United States Senate! hahahahahahahaha
Everyone needs to stop bashing our leaders and each other, and instead offer solutions. Do something constructive and think of solutions you’d like implemented. If you have a solution to the many problems our elected leaders are trying to fix, then please post it for all of us to read. Describe the extensive research you’ve done, the people you’ve spoken with and their take on the situation and your proposed solution, explain how you would finance your solution, describe how you’d implement your solution, who will administer, what are the expected results of your solution, the possible unintended consequences of your solution and how you would mitigate those, etc., and so on. (The public will then evaluate your thoughts and let you know if you’re on track or off base….or maybe offer their constructive support and ideas.) Our elected would be able to do a better job for all of us if we all chipped in and helped, instead of bashed. When was the last time you called an elected leader and said “how can I help.” Or, if you think you can do a better job, then run for office.
