One week ago Ken Blackwell pulled into the parking lot of the Holland Gardens for a so-called Lindon Day dinner with the local GOP faithful. He gave his speech, inspired the crowd, and drove back to the airport.
Now it seems, a week later, Strickland is upset with what Blackwell said.
Sorry, Ted, too late. You snooze you lose. That "God" comment is, well, so yesterday.
I posted the time and place along with a map showing the location of the event so that the local Dems could muster a counter rally for the event. But no one showed. Except for my wife and I along with two pro-choice protesters.
Where was the local leadership? Didn't Irish, Montalto, and Finkbeiner know the event was going on? Couldn't they have sent in someone to find out what Blackwell said?
Leadership? What a joke!
Ken Blackwell Hits Target

OFCC endorsed Gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell was on hand Tuesday, June 20th, at the Ohio State Trapshooting Tournament at the Cardinal Center Campgrounds in Marengo. The campgrounds are the new home of the Ohio State Trapshooting Association .
As the guest of Honor Blackwell fired the first shots at the campgrounds' new trapshooting field. Blackwell went 8 for 10 from the 16 yard line, demonstrating that he doesn't just talk about guns, he can shoot well too! You can watch Ken shooting on the range here.
Fox News covered the event and interviewed Blackwell in a piece that analyzed the role reversal of the candidates running for Governor. Of course, it was interesting to see the news voiceover calling Strickland a pro-gun candidate, while it was Blackwell they showed actually shooting.
Ted Strickland Only Up By 5
Submitted by rightangle on June 22, 2006 - 5:06pm. generalAnd Sherrod Brown is pulling away!
From the WSJ and Blackwell's press release
The Wall Street Journal Zogby Interactive Poll today indicated Republican gubernatorial nominee Ken Blackwell continues to close the gap on Congressman and former psychologist Ted Strickland. Blackwell trails Strickland by only five points with a 3.3 percent margin of error.
The Zogby survey mirrors the historically accurate University of Cincinnati Ohio Poll released May 25, which showed Blackwell trailing Strickland by six points.
"The more voters learn more about Strickland the less they are likely to vote for him," said Blackwell campaign chair Lara Mastin. "Strickland is a pro-tax, big government advocate and the darling of the nation's most liberal advocacy groups."
Strickland's own words paint a puzzling and disturbing picture of the Democrat:
He campaigns as a Methodist minister, but confided to the Dayton Daily News on Feb. 19 he is "not a member of a local church" and only attends church service "occasionally."
I believe this poll. It shows good news for Blackwell but bad news for DeWine, it seems more realistic. If that's the case, then Mike DeWine is in serious trouble.
