Another Cuyahoga BOE Screw Up

From cleveland.com

More than 1,500 absentee ballots sent to voters in several Cuyahoga County communities listed the wrong party affiliations for two candidates in the race for Ohio House District 7.

Democratic incumbent Kenny Yuko was incorrectly listed as a Republican, while challenger Beverly Valencic was mislabeled as a Democrat.

Cuyahoga County Board of Elections Director Michael Vu said that more than 4,300 voters requested absentee ballots in the district, which includes Euclid, South Euclid, Richmond Heights and the Collinwood neighborhood of Cleveland.

Oh brother.

Blackwell's Debate Cheerleaders

From stateronline

More than 50 Ken Blackwell supporters lined up along a sidewalk about a thousand feet from the theater. They were donned in construction hats and yellow T-shirts saying "Concrete Finishers for Blackwell." But what seemed like a group of local contractors showing up to support Ken Blackwell was actually a group of college students.

Matt Kocsan, Ohio State's College Republicans president, said the Blackwell supporters he was with were College Republican members from around Ohio.

"We organized a statewide effort to get College Republican members from all around the state to show up," Kocsan said. "We brought a bus from Columbus with about 25 people on it. This election season we've been getting a lot of good stuff done like this."

He explained the "Concrete Finishers for Blackwell" on the T-shirts was a response to Ted Strickland's comments at the gubernatorial debates in Cleveland on Sept. 20.

"Ted Strickland said if he didn't have an education, he'd be doing concrete like the rest of his family," Kocsan said. "The Democratic party likes to tout itself as a party of labor, but Strickland was basically saying, 'If you're a concrete finisher, you're an uneducated idiot.'"

Kocsan said College Republican chapters from Ohio State, Miami, Franciscan, Capital and Youngstown State had shown up for the demonstration. They stood on the sidewalk with signs and cheered as vehicles drove by.

"OK, listen up you guys!" Kocsan told the Blackwell supporters on a megaphone. "Back in '04, I got death threats for doing stuff like this. So I want to see you guys get them tonight. Come on!"

Blackwell's supporters had shown up in full force and had the largest party turnout that night.

Ted Strickland Lives in an Upstairs Apartment?

From salemnews

A press secretary for gubernatorial candidate Ted Strickland labeled as “desperate and petty tactics” a complaint from an East Liverpool woman questioning Strickland’s claim to Lisbon as his home residence.

Jacqueline Long filed a complaint with the Columbiana County Board of Elections asking that Strickland’s name be removed from voter registration rolls for the North Market Street house he has claimed as his primary residence. The house has an upstairs apartment that Strickland reportedly stays in when in the area.

Long’s complaint was outlined in a news release sent to media outlets Wednesday by county Republican County Chairman David Johnson.

Keith Dailey, press secretary for Strickland, responded that “This is more of the same desperate and petty tactics we have come to expect from the Republican Party leadership that is absent of any real plan to move Ohio forward. Nothing will come of this.”

He said the GOP advanced the claim because “they are fighting a losing campaign.”

Long, whose son Larry Long Jr. is a volunteer campaign worker for GOP gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell, was quoted in Johnson’s release as saying, “I am tired of seeing political commercials of Ted Strickland claiming he lives in Lisbon when he actually resides in Columbus. This is exactly why I filed this challenge against him. He doesn’t pay taxes here, so he shouldn’t vote here.”

Duffy said to his knowledge, Strickland has never mentioned his Lisbon residence in a political commercial.

Sherrod Brown's Record on Drugs

When Sherrod Brown was Secretary of State, his employees were investigated for having sold drugs to undercover agents. Brown applied pressure to end the investigation so as to not hurt his chances for re-election. An Ohio State Highway Patrol investigator confirmed that Brown wanted the investigation dropped.

What did Sherrod Brown do with the employee that was being investigated for selling drugs to an undercover agent? Sherrod Brown promoted him.

Two more employees were investigated for dealing drugs out of the office mailroom. One employee had to have her stomach pumped because she ate a brownie laced with marijuana.

What did Sherrod Brown do next? He hired a guy who was the subject of two drug investigations.

Ultimately, the county prosecutor concluded that nothing improper occured in Sherrod Brown's Secretary of State's office... Sherrod Brown went on to play at being a Congressman next...

Sherrod Brown has accepted a contribution from an organization dedicated to making marijuana legal for medicinal purposes and removing criminal penalties for marijuana usage.

Does this sound like the record of a guy who should be representing the Great State of Ohio in the United States Senate?

But don't take my word for it, swing by Weapons of Mass Discussion and see what Ohio's newspapers had to say...

Sherrod Brown is Unbelievable
