MoveOn.Org’s Disgusting Ad
What ever happened to when Democrats were screaming at Bush to “listen to his generals?”
I knew this sort of attack was was coming weeks ago! I saw an episode on Ohio public television an episode of Feagler and Friends, and Dick Feagler, Plain Dealer’s Mark Naymick, and one or two other dopey liberal columnists all agreed that General Petraeus’ report would only be credible in their eyes if it was largely negative and pessimistic. And as we know, there is very little difference between 527 liberal groups and the drive-by media (The name Sandy Theis comes to mind.).
Now, it appears that General Petraeus, who was confirmed by the Senate 81-0, is being attacked for political reasons- Even though it was Petraeus who knows more about whats going on in Iraq than anyone, and certainly is a brilliant military strategist.
This ad is awful, and I couldn’t imagine how anyone could consider themselves a member of a political party which is heavily invested in the defeat of America.

Treason.
Article 2, Section 4 of the Constitution. Let’s open the book and prep some beds @ Gitmo.

So, when a liberal group comes out with an ad questioning if Petreaus is acting in the best interests of the citizens of the US (as opposed to in the best interests of the President), and never even come close to uttering the word “traitor”, it’s disgusting. Yet all those times this blog has flat-out unequivocally called liberals (or those who agree with them) traitors is just fine?
Heck, the support for Ann Coulter (who’s entire act consists of calling people who disagree with her “traitors”) is off-the-scale here.
And you find questioning Petreaus’ motives (while not using the “T” word) “disgusting”? While using the same tired “liberals are fighting for the defeat of America” propaganda? Come on. I think I just tripped over the irony and broke my neck.

Brian,
MoveOn called Gen Petraeus, Gen. Betrayus. How can you defend that?

I should add - I’m necessarily in favor of the ad (I think it’s a little juvenile, making a play on his name like that, and detracts from the solid message in the body of the text), I just find the faux outrage… ironic.

Exactly why attack the integrity of the man when the only MoveOn’s choir believes he is not above board. Thus diminishing the argument MoveOn is making. It makes them viewed by all others as someone not be taken seriously….. but having the thick skulls they do it is not surprising.

Really? Most Americans feel that he would “exaggerate” progress in Iraq today, and he did.
The headline pun was silly and ill-advised. The attack on the message is totally justified.

Clarification - the attack against Petraeus’ message is totally justified.
