A Nice Summary of Marc Dann’s 1st Year

From legalnewsline.com

Take it from someone who lives in a state where most of the investigative journalism involves investigating a website for a press release, the people of Ohio are lucky to have such quality reporting in their newspapers

Just take a look at Marc Dann. Every day I write an article about him, I wrestle with a tough decision, whether to call him “Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann” or “beleaguered Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann” on first reference. The way things are going, the latter isn’t too far off.

The Columbus Dispatch, especially, has really dug deep into his administration. Check out this story from today. The paper has landed three big-time stories showing flaws in Dann’s office, and that’s only in the past week.

A Dispatch editorial also recently showed Dann’s penchant for accepting the money of electronic gaming companies, even though he was presently involved in litigation with them at the time.

And it’s not just the paper in the capital, where it’s much easier to cover politics than anywhere else in a state, that is stirring things up.

The Morning Journal of Lorain recently wrote of a lawsuit against Dann and his emergency rule to unplug those gaming machines.

Then there’s everyone’s favorite, a report in the Warren-based Tribune-Chronicle that describes how a woman for whom Dann acted as guardian and the fiancee of a campaign contributor were hired recently by Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner’s office.

Head to youtube.com and put “Marc Dann” in a search, and you can find a campaign speech by Dann urging voters to vote for Brunner. You’ll also find a tape of him cussing out the reporter who wrote the story, caught by a television station.

Right Angle: the link to Legalnewswire doesn’t go to an article with the indented paragraphs. I went to Legalnewsline and couldn’t find the story. Any other ideas where to find it? Couldn’t find it with a search on Legalnewsline, Google or in Google Blog Search.

    Thanks.
