I know Frost is a favorite target of the posters on this site, but Frost should also get credit when credit is due. This article gives the GOP up here some traction and the “Pork Barrel Buffet” that the County Party puts out has let people know we have some fight left. I know Steve Backiel (Cuyahoga GOP Exec Dir) deserves credit too, and anyone that questions his Conservatism has not met him.

Joe- This puff piece does nothing. Cleveland Magazine is a worthless rag that has little influence. Many of the flattering assertions made in this article are downright false.

I think the Crain’s article about the attempt to put the sales tax on the ballot said a lot more about Frosty than this joke of a piece.

There’s no question Steve Backiel is a legitimate conservative. The fact that he is a legitimate conservative is also meaningless. Steve takes orders at Headquarters, he does not give them. He does not set policy, nor does he have any real input in the policy process.

S.A. I will have to read the Crain’s article, I did not see it. I just don’t think we can underestimate the importance of puff in today’s world which is so saturated with media and celebrity. We need to be seen and the majority of people are not interested in the depth (even a majority of those who vote). I think we as Conservatives need to understand how superficial and personality driven this whole thing is. We need to stick to our core principles, but craft messages that reasonate with the electorate we have.
