Ted Strickland STILL Doesn’t Have a Plan to Fix Education?

Why isn’t the MSM pressing Gov. Strickland more about this point made by Mark Niquette in The Dispatch?:

[Ted Strickland is] refusing to be pinned down on when he’ll have a plan to “fix” school funding as promised, but Strickland said he’ll work on that issue and plans to meet this week with leaders of a committee that decided not to seek a school-funding issue on the fall ballot.

Well Strickland was certainly in a hurry to strip support of abstinence programs or funding for special education for retarded children, but has Ted completely forgot his very specific education platform from the 2006 campaign?

And Strickland has been saying he would meet with these community leaders for about a year. Why the delay for his “number 1 issue? From The Toledo Blade (Dec 3, 2006- via lexisnexis):

“[Strickland said] he would rebuild public school financing, without explaining what that new edifice would look like… Mr. Strickland said his plan would grow out of a consensus from teachers, parents, businessmen, and the Republican-controlled General Assembly.”

It will be fascinating to see if Strickland ever releases a plan to fix education funding- But since it will be written by school union goons, you can bet that it will include a tax increase.
