Boozin’ & Lyin’ Under Oath Frankie Coleman, After Her MSM Sympathy Tour and Rehab, Is Going to the Pokey!
Breaking news fom NBC 4 Columbus:
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The wife of Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman was charged on Monday after an investigation surrounding timesheets during her career with the Ohio Department of Development.
Frankie Coleman was charged with misdemeanor charges of falsification and attempted theft in office, in accordance with recommendations from the state inspector general, NBC 4’s Lauren Diedrich reported.
According to a report released in June by the state inspector general, Frankie Coleman was paid for work never completed as the assistant manager at the Ohio Department of Development.
The maximum penalty for each charge is six months in jail and a fine of $1,000.
According to a press release from Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien, the falsification charge alleges that Frankie Coleman “falsely stated under oath to the inspector general’s office that she had worked all hours that she had been paid for while employed by the Ohio Department of Development when, in fact, there were 56 hours that she had not worked or taken appropriate leave.”
I’m glad Prosecutor O’Brien isn’t caving to the pressure of serious political forces, and is standing up against a corrupt Strickland administration that gave Mayor Mike Coleman’s wife a job that she didn’t have to show up for. She deserves the maximum penalty allowed by law, which would send a clear message that cronyism, corruption, and lying under oath will not be tolerated.
Now that she is expected to plead guilty, will Joe Hallett re-publish his fawning, adoring column about her?

Joe Hallett was sympathetic. A trait that some folks might lack! Cannot sinners repent?

Ms. Begorrah, were you sympathetic and calling for forgiveness when Bob Taft and Tom Noe were the ones breaking the law? Or are there different standards for corrupt Democrats?

CincyJeff, It’s clear that Tom Noe was a user and arrogant sort. Never appeared to repent anything other than being caught. As the for the former Governor, yes I was very sympathetic. His were acts of omission which I believe were without any intention of hiding anything. Never saw Bob Taft as a liar or thief. Perhaps you were one of those who criticized Taft because he was not ruthless or did not have a cut-throat mentality which seems so prevalent in politics?

While I agree that Taft was not an effective Governor and [IMHO] made careless decisions (or neglected to make them) that led to our butt-kicking last year, I also agree w/Ms. Begorrah that Noe & Taft = apples & oranges.
Although it sure seems malicious when anyone raises your taxes and/or governs incongruently, I don’t think Taft had malicious intent thru-out any of his tenure…he’s simply not that calculative.

I criticized Taft for being a lousy governor and breaking the law.
Should Frankie Coleman be criticized for breaking the law and not showing up for work or is it different for Democrats?

As Mark Twain once said, “Always do right. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest.” No, I clearly agree that anyone should be criticized for breaking the law. However I guess I’ve just become accustomed to the comments on this blog being nasty, negative and sometimes really over the edge. Maybe I just expected the same? Corruption is unacceptable whether a Democrat or Republican.
