The Frankie Standard

Well, as you can tell from the news reports, Frankie Coleman isn’t going to the prison, and a new precedent has been established. Henceforth, it is legally acceptable to lie to the Inspector General under oath and not fear a felony conviction. Perjury isn’t perjury, actually. It true Clintonian fashion, it now depends on how you define the words,’”to lie.”

Under the same circumstances, you and I would have certainly gone to jail. It must be nice being the wife of Mayor Coleman- Since your marriage to him would allow you to be ABOVE the law.

Frankie Coleman now gets off with a slap on the wrist, and can get back to her three best friends: Jimmy, Jack, and Johnny. What a travesty of justice.

And how nice is it for Frankie to be prosecuted by Mike Coleman’s personal attorney?

Maybe Scooter Libby can lobby to get her probation suspended too.

Having a different recollection of a phone call with Tim Russert about a crime that it was found that he didn’t commit is much different than Frankie not showing up for work, turning in fake phone calls, and then lying to investigators.

Heck- Martha Stewart was found not guilty, but went to jail on this same sort of process crime. But unlike Martha, Frankie actually committed a crime outside of an investigation.

What’s “much different” is that Frankie Coleman has admitted her guilt, apologized, and appears to be seeking rehabilitation. Your serious assertion that Mayor influenced her avoidance of jail time is unsubstantiated. Scooter Libby is a remorseless felon who was nevertheless relieved of a prison sentence by his boss.
