Victory for Taxpayers in Lorain County
Thanks to the efforts of Amherst City Councilman Nick Brusky and plenty of volunteers, the Lorain County Democrat sponsored sales tax increase was shot down. Great work guys!:
With three-fifths of precincts reporting, voters in Lorain County were soundly defeating a county sales tax referendum, with about 80 percent voting no.
The sales tax controversy has been brewing since February, when the three county commissioners voted to raise the sales tax from 6.25 percent to 6.5 percent.

The Hamilton County sales tax increase was defeated as well.

Just a shame that not enough people in Cuyahoga signed petitions to get a referendum on the ballot for its tax increase. With the tax defeat, Lorain will enjoy the fruits of Cuyahoga’s failure to do so.
