Bill Todd Hits Mayor Mike Coleman With a Double Whammy Today
First, Bill Todd, candidate for Mayor of Columbus, is finally taking the fight to Mike Coleman in a tough new radio ad. (Click here to listen to it.) The issue is crime, and since Columbus has been my home for the past five years, I have first hand knowledge of how awful the crime is in Columbus. In fact, when I lived in an apartment south of The Ohio State University, I had people try to break into my home more than once. There is no doubt that Columbus is a much more violent and crime-infested city than New York city is.
Here is the related ad the Todd campaign is running in The Columbus Dispatch:
Then, Todd correctly slams Mayor Mike Coleman for not celebrating Columbus Day in a city named after Christopher Columbus:
TODD CRITICIZES COLEMAN FOR IGNORING COLUMBUS DAY
Delivers Letter to The Columbus Piave Club in Celebration of Columbus Day
(Columbus) Mayoral candidate Bill Todd today said that under Michael Coleman, the largest city in the world named after Christopher Columbus has chosen to ignore the Columbus Day holiday.
“We haven’t had a Columbus Day parade in Columbus since Mike Coleman became mayor. He has turned his back on our city’s namesake and on all of the Italian-Americans in Columbus who have helped to build our city,” said Todd.
Todd said his own grandfather immigrated to Ohio from Italy in the early 1920s.
“These men and women not only built strong and successful families but their heroic labors helped build this nation, city by city, and state by state. Columbus, Ohio owes an enormous debt of gratitude to these intrepid souls. Let us never underestimate their contribution to this great nation, and this great city, and let no one ever forget to honor their memory,” he said.
The full text of Bill Todd’s letter is as follows:
Early in the 20th Century a young Italian man, by the name of Frank Diana, left his homeland to settle in America. He came here seeking a better future for his wife, Maria Russo Diana, and their small children.
After years of hard labor in a limestone quarry, he had saved enough money to send for his family. On February 3, 1921, my Grandfather Diana welcomed the arrival of his family after they disembarked at Ellis Island from a small passenger liner, the Giuseppe Verdi.
They brought with them few material possessions–but were full of hope that America would provide them a brighter set of tomorrows. My Grandparents also brought with them the determination that, by their courageous efforts, their children and their children’s’ children would have a chance to succeed in the New World.
Their story is typical of the millions of immigrants who have arrived in America during our history seeking freedom, opportunity and a new life. It is truly fitting and proper that we celebrate the courage, determination and hard work of our immigrant ancestors on Columbus Day.
These men and women not only built strong and successful families but their heroic labors helped build this nation, city by city, and state by state. Columbus, Ohio owes an enormous debt of gratitude to these intrepid souls. Let us never underestimate their contribution to this great nation, and this great city, and let no one ever forget to honor their memory!
Let us all join together to celebrate Columbus Day in recognition of these brave men and women from every nation and every continent whose collective efforts have made America great.
Very Truly Yours,
Bill Todd
Candidate for Mayor of Columbus
It is clear that in the race for Mayor, only Bill Todd understands and respects the rich history of Columbus, Ohio. Columbus is responsible for discovering the Americas on behalf of the civilized world, and we should be honoring him today. Clearly, Mike Coleman doesn’t believe in the superiority of Western culture, doesn’t understand the history of the own city that he is the Mayor of, and is trying to keep the uneducated America-hating left, and a number of OSU professors, happy. How pathetic.

Source? According to my review of the 2006 FBI crime data, Columbus doesn’t rank # 1 on violent crime or homicide. In fact, it ranks behind the per capita rates of several other Ohio cities.
Based on 2006 crime data, you’re more likely to be murdered in Orlando than Columbus.

Okay, that only covers the NYC claim. But the main claim is that Columbus ranks #1 in the nation on crime. Again, what’s the source since the FBI’s latest crime statistics puts Columbus much lower than that and even behind other cities in Ohio?

Aw…poor modern. He doesn’t have anyone to talk to over at the BS Blog so he has to come over to the Right Angle Blog or talk his BS to himself.
No comments at BS Blog means no or low BS Blog traffic which means no BS Blog advertisers and no BS Blog readers. The downward spiral continues for the BS Blog
When will they EVER learn… when will they ever learn?
Where have all the BS Blogger front page posters gone and all the BS Blog comments ?? (censored or banned except Tim “sex offender” Russo).
Where have all the BS Blog readers gone ?? (away in disgust and/or embarrassed to associate with such BS)
When will they EVER learn… when will they ever learn?

Those numbers are misleading…
He’s using NY and LA to try and scare everyone into thinking how bad it is to live in Columbus right now… The fact is, NY and LA have bad areas, but the extremely large population base brings down their violent crime per capita to that which is pretty good actually. Columbus is not in the top 25 most dangerous cities and neither are NY or LA.
The rape statistics are skewered a little bit because of the fact that we have the largest university in the nation sitting right in the middle of the city. So is he proposing a way to stop rapes? And really, the dishonest ad campaign doesn’t make me want to vote for him.

I have been writing a commentary covering the mayoral race for the past two weeks and will continue to do so right up until Nove 6th. And all I can say at this moment is “Is this Todd guy for real, I mean can any one be as dumb as he is? I don’t think he is really dumb. I think he truly wants Coleman to remain Mayor so he and his flunkies continue to flood our radio waves with BS
