Wow… School Unions Can’t Get the Job Done on their Ballot Issue

From Gongwer:

A coalition of education groups pushing a school funding constitutional amendment said Monday it expects to fall short of the signatures required to make the statewide ballot this fall.

The Campaign for Ohio’s Future, which said it had collected 150,000 signatures as part of its effort, will continue to circulate petitions.

“We are pleased about the dialogue that our efforts have initiated to finally fix Ohio’s unconstitutional school funding system,” said Jim Betts, the coalition’s spokesman. “We look forward to building upon this momentum by continuing to collect signatures and working with Governor Strickland.”

They have every single school district at their disposal- They are using tax dollars in school newsletter to promote this, and can probably force teachers to collect signatures for it. And they still can’t collect enough signatures?

Has the laziness that union members are infamous creeped into their political efforts?
